Bohemian Vibes: Velvet Midi Skirt + Slouchy Sweater

Do you remember the book "The Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Style" first published in 2008? I was an avid Lucky Magazine subscriber from 2004 until the magazine folded in 2015, and I am still sad that they could not transfer their successful print formula online. Anyway, when "The Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Style" came out, I carefully evaluated each of the ten style profiles to identify mine (you can still find the book on Amazon here). I see myself as a mix of "American Classic" and "Gamine," but there are days when I feel like venturing into a different style profile. Today's outfit is an example of one of those days--I was feeling "Bohemian" vibes! You might remember this beautiful velvet midi skirt from one of my November posts (you can read it here), but unfortunately it sold out before the holidays and was not restocked. Velvet's peak season is definitely around Christmas and New Year, but as you saw in my Valentine's Day Outfit Idea post last week I firmly believe this luxurious fabric can be worn all winter long and even into spring! In today's outfit, I paired this velvet midi skirt with a slouchy sweater (found on a recent trip to H&M), suede ankle boots (currently on sale!), and a fedora for a casual weekend outfit. Please read on for more photos, outfit links, and more of my picks for midi skirts to style in your own Bohemian-inspired look.
