Spring Essential: Leather

Now that March has arrived and the official first day of spring is near, I think it is a great time to run through some spring trends that are wearable now.  While culottes, flat sandals, and sheer fabrics may need to wait for warmer weather, trends like florals, gingham, and leather can be incorporated into your outfits now.  Let's focus on leather today.  Designers such as Prada, Proenza Schouler, and Saint Laurent all featured ladylike, refined leather looks in their 2015 spring/summer runway shows.  This spring, follow their lead by incorporating leather or faux leather pieces into a layered spring look.  For my take on the spring leather trend, I layered this fitted faux leather sheath dress over a light chambray shirt.  I then added black pumps, a leopard clutch, pearl statement necklace, and red lips for a day to night look that can take you from office meetings to dinner and beyond.
